has written, edited, or contributed to seven books on art, architecture, and cinema, and is currently at work on a book about the American West in collaboration with the artist Richard Prince. His writing has also been published in American and French newspapers such as Le Monde and the Wall Street Journal. Over several decades he has served on a wide range of nonprofit boards ranging from Storefront for Art and Architecture to the American University of Paris.

Bob holds two graduate degrees in History and Architecture from Columbia. He attended Phillips Exeter Academy and Yale undergraduate, both on scholarship. He and his wife Stéphane have three children and reside on the Upper West Side.
